Session title: Ensuring Availability with Modern Db2 Backup and Recovery Strategies
Session abstract: This presentation will discuss what we as DBA and System folks can do now to help when there is a recovery situation. We all have done recoveries… but we usually don’t wake up one morning and say let’s do some recoveries today. Or are we ready for a hardware or software failure today? Some companies have woken up and said just those words. Why? Probably because they just had an unplanned outage, maybe in DB2 or maybe someplace else. During the presentation, think about recovery in your shop … What if there was a problem tonight. Can you recover? I will show you some things BMC had integrated in their tools to help prepare for recovery so you can answer that question with confidence.
