Session title: Db2 13 – From GA to Today
Session abstract: Generally available for almost 3 years, Db2 13 for z/OS continues to deliver new capabilities, with 72% (and growing) of the capabilities being delivered in the continuous delivery stream.
Meanwhile, Db2 12 for z/OS end-of-support is announced and less than 1 year away. If you have not started your migration to Db2 13, now is the time to begin. We will review the key components of that planning.
Speaker bios: Paul Bartak has been working with Db2 for z/OS since V1.2 as a customer and as a solution provider across industries and is the original author of the Db2 Migration Planning Workshops (v8 – 11). As a Distinguished Engineer with Rocket Software, Paul is focused on the tools used to maximize z/OS platform value, with an emphasis in Db2 for z/OS currency & synergy, database administration, DevOps processes and modernization. He supports multiple Db2 User Groups; has been a speaker at several IDUG, IBM Z Day, IBM TechXchange, and Insight/Think conferences; is a Redbook/Redpaper author; and IBM Champion.
