Session title: Latest from the lab: V11.1.4.4 and V11.5 Core Engine Enhancements
Session abstract: V11.1 first shipped in April 2016. It introduced a new paradigm of continuous delivery to Db2 releases. We will start with a review of V11.1 including recent mod 4 functionality. From there we will progress into our upcoming v11.5 release. Once on 11.5, we’ll introduce a number of the new features in 11.5 GA. Finally we’ll end with details on some of the potential items in the V11.5 continuous delivery roadmap. Continue reading “Latest from the lab: V11.1.4.4 and V11.5 Core Engine Enhancements”

Session abstract: This presentation discusses requirements for algorithms that can be used to mask personally identifiable information (PII) in QA and test environments that were populated with production data. Continue reading “Data Masking for Db2 on z/OS”
Session title: Db2 for z/OS Stored Procedures: the System Perspective
Session abstract: This session provides information on Db2 for z/OS stored procedures that can be particularly relevant to Db2 “systems” people – systems programmers and DBAs. Continue reading “Db2 for z/OS Stored Procedures: the System Perspective”
Session title: Managing, Monitoring, Tuning and Architecting a Db2 for z/OS DDF Workload
Session abstract: At a great many Db2 for z/OS sites, applications that utilize the distributed data facility (DDF) comprise the fastest-growing segment of the overall Db2 workload, and such applications are increasingly found to be the very largest workload component – bigger than CICS-Db2, bigger than IMS-Db2, bigger than batch-Db2. Session title: Data-as-a-Service: the REST Interface to Db2 for z/OS
Session abstract: Non-DBMS-specific SQL interfaces such as JDBC and ODBC have been helpful for developers, enabling them to write code that accesses relational database management systems without having to customize that code for a specific relational DBMS; nowadays, however, a growing number of developers want a data-access interface that provides a still-higher level of abstraction with regard to the particulars of a specific data-serving platform.
