Session title: Db2 meets watsonx.data – A DBA Guide

Session abstract: Watsonx.data is the newest member of the database family at IBM. This session will provide an overview of what watsonx.data provides and how Db2 fits into this environment.

The interoperability between Db2 and watsonx.data is explored and features which a DBA needs to be aware of are highlighted during this session.

Speaker bio: George Baklarz, B. Math, M. Sc, Ph.D. Eng., has spent many years in IBM working on various aspects of database technology. In 1991, George was part of the team that introduced the Db2 distributed product to the market. He has written 14 books on Db2 and has a patent for the process of containerizing an existing Db2 database into Openshift. George has held a variety of roles in Db2 including vendor enablement, competitive analysis, product marketing, product planning, and technical sales support for the Db2 and watsonx.data products. 

George currently works for the Americas Data and AI Technical Sales Team and helps to evangelize the benefits of Db2 and watsonx.data technology and builds Powerpoint slides for a living.
