Session title: The Transition of Db2 Automated HA from TSA to Pacemaker – Into ActIV

Session abstract: Looking at our continuing transition from TSA to Pacemaker, this session recaps the journey so far before taking a look at the new Pacemaker HA offerings in 11.5.8.0, including support for Mutual Failover, HA in the Cloud, improvements to installation and a sneak peak at what’s coming up next in the roadmap.

Speaker biography: With a background in Observational Astronomy at the University of Cambridge, England, Toby joined IBM Canada in 1999 as a software developer in the Db2 Runtime engine. After eight years of development experience, he moved over to the Db2 Performance team to start work on what would become Db2 pureScale v9.8, working under Steve Rees. In the late summer of 2018, he stepped up to the role of Technical Manager for Db2 pureScale, looking after an active team of developers and support analysts. Now a Senior Staff Developer at IBM, Toby is exploring new frontiers of High Availability and Database Performance with the the IBM Canada team in Markham, Ontario.
